I've never had brussel sprouts on the stalk before. It looks pretty cool. I have to investigate if I can cook them that way or need to remove them first. I love my brussel sprouts baked. What about you?
They look so fun on the stalk! I haven't been able to really develop a taste for them though. Usually roast them, or sometimes slice them really thin and saute them with other greens.
I ve never cooked the brussels on the stalk, tho suppsedly one can. We like them just about any way, roasted, steamed, sauteed, slivered for slaw or stir fry. I bought the stalk thing once a few years ago...then couldn t figure out how to clean the sprouts and it all just seemd like :OK that s cool on the stalk but um, why? LOL Pls tell us if you roast the whole stalk! And if you then eat the stalk!
Here in England, we take a few sprouts off, cook them as liked and leave the rest on the stalk until needed. No we don't eat the stalk, it is so tough, even our hens won't eat it. My favourite serving, is to stir fry the thinly sliced sprouts in the tiniest drop of toasted sesame oil..

ReplyDeleteI like to roast them too but lately, I have been putting them in our salads to give a bit of crunch.
