** Don't eat anything your great-grandmother wouldn't recognize as food.**
~from Food Rules by Michael Pollan
This week's challenge: Eat at least 5 servings of fruits or vegetables each day. Three is easy for me, five is hard. If you have any great ideas to make it easier please let me know.
How did you all do on drinking more fluids?
PS That really is a photo of my great grandmother.
I like Michael Pollen's writing - good advice. My tip for getting in your fruits and veggies is the breakfast shake. Mine usually have at least 3 - banana, berries, mango or peaches, and spinach. That way, when I leave the house, I am more than halfway there. And frozen fruits is another tip.
ReplyDeleteI had my best week yet - helped out by being on spring break - with 18 miles.
I've not been well this week :( So no miles for me.
ReplyDelete5 helpings of fruit & veggies? Like you, I can manage 3 easily. Juliann's got a good idea.
I havce been sort of off the whole 'goal'. Have been having neck pain and headaches everyday for a month. Dr. has me on some meds now so hope that will help.
ReplyDeleteI usually get 4 but I will accept the challenge and try and walk this week and get all 5 fruits/veggies a day.
PS I am at 55# weight loss right now. woohoo
It's easy for me to eat 5 fruits and veggies a day. My best advice is to become a vegetarian. Need to know why, just read The Omnivore's Dilemma.
ReplyDeleteBeing at a conference it is hard to stay on a program. Eating out is not good. I did walk a lot though.
