When to Eat Organic

I've been trying to eat more and more organic. We have two large groceries stores with horrible selection, so I do the best I can do with my weekly produce box and shopping when I'm out of town. Here is a great list of the dirty dozen- lots of spray and pesticides on these foods. let's avoid it when we can, for your health and mine.

If you are like me I eat a LOT of these foods, so think about how all that bad stuff adds up!

Eat well, be healthy!

Growing Food in Xela

If you can look past these adorable kids check out that field behind them. The area near Quetzaltenango is very fertile growing lots of fruits, vegetables and corn.

Unfortunately we were told not to eat any food away from our hotel.
Almost as good as my local farmer's market!
Look at how they were farming on that hillside!

I tried to stick with fruits and veggies with a little lean protein. The desserts were generally traditional to the area and I had to try them!
I'll be rested up soon then I will get back to eating and exercising on a regular basis.

Tomato....Tumauto.....

Hydroponic growing of tomatoes. It's one way to get freshly grown organic tomatoes all winter! I'm lucky it is within a couple of miles of my house.
