"The goal you set must be challenging. At the same time, it should be realistic and attainable, not impossible to reach. It should be challenging enough to make you stretch, but not so far that you break." Rick Hansen
I ran my last long run before the half marathon next week. I'm still fighting some tailbone pain and now my bursitis in my hips is flaring up. It is so frustrating as I feel I was doing so good with my training until the fall. (down the stairs, that is) I thought a lot about the run today while fighting the wind, rain and pain (!) and was starting to doubt that I could actually run 13.1 miles.
Then I had a bout of positive self talk. Of course, I will run 13.1 miles next week. Will it be a challenge? You bet. Am I ready to reach the goal I set for myself a few months ago? I say, "Bring it on!"
Set goals, make a plan, make it happen!! You have it within you to "Get to Goal!"
I just got back from FitClub and it is such a great thing to both dig deep and encourage one another. I am so excited to hear about your run and very motivated to keep my own training up - you rock my friend!
ReplyDeleteYes! That's the right and only attitude! Good luck on your marathon!
ReplyDeleteI have just started my workout and the schedule is walks for 3 days a week and 2 days weights and abs. I did my strength training this morning. I just know I'm going to be sore when I go for my walk tomorrow morning :( But I MUST walk!
Thank you for the inspiration!
