Zucchini Sampler Two!

On August 7th I posted 4 photos similar to this, but these are new from that same packet of seeds!
I picked and cooked one yellow one and it was as bitter as can be. It was so bad we wondered if we would get sick. (Thankfully we didn't)

The two round squash that I thought may be pumpkins have not grown at all!

I have quite a few tomatoes growing but only a few cherry tomatoes are turning red.  I think I'll keep quilting and leave the vegetable growing to the farmers.

  1. Wow, what a variety from just one seed packet. That's a hoot - mystery plants??? I find quilting & gardening very humbling. LOL Ann in PA

  2. Funny - I have come to the conclusion that I do not have a green thumb. My garden has been a total fail. Fortunately we have great local produce sources :)

  3. Lori, maybe these were seeds from a hybrid squash, where the ''offspring'' are revrting or mutating? There *are* round zucchinis, I see them at the farmers market. They are fun when baked/ stuffed [quinoa etc]. In the future you might want to use seed packets from a very established seller, like Burpee...

If it was my garden I d write or email the seed company and ask them what they think happened...just so I d know.
