Motivation and the Holidays

It seems like Halloween is the kickoff to the holiday season. Make sure you have gotten rid of all your candy. Having a bowl full of candy on your counter top is not good for your health!!!!

What do you want to have happen this season? Do you have any personal goals?
As far as weight loss where do you want to be January 1, 2010? We have to stay focused on what we really want. We have to set goals and keep motivated to succeed.

There are many things that can derail us this time of the year. There are parties, the added stress of family get togethers, busier then usual schedules, shorter daylight hours, budget concerns and special foods. Can you really be successful this time of the year? Absolutely!!!

Set a realistic goal for yourself. Maybe you want to weigh the same as you do right now. Maybe you want to continue to lose. Set a goal and write it down. Take some ownership of it!

Tracking is a key component to any weight loss. The three month tracker is a great tool to have in your purse or car. Even if you are tracking online I think it is only safe to carry a tracker. Will you really be able to remember everything you've eaten in a day?

Keep going to your Weight Watcher meeting. So many members drop out at this time of the year, then they regret it when they come back in January and February. Be accountable to your fellow members. Knowing you will weigh in "officially" keeps you in check. For me, my weekly meeting was my mid week motivation.

Write down your goal for January 1, 2010 and write one step you will take this week to help you reach that goal.
You can do it!!!!

"People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing-that's why we recommend it daily." ~Zig Ziglar
