Last week we talked about steps to living a healthier lifestyle. Here are a few more steps to get you heading in the right direction.
Drink plenty of fluids. Fluids keep us hydrated and keep things moving smoothly!! This is especially important if you are trying to increase your fiber intake.
Get it some healthy fat. Healthy oils, such as olive oil, canola oil and safflower are important if you are on a low fat diet. We need healthy fats which can lower the risk of heart disease and stroke. They also help your body absorb vitamins A, D, E and K. You can get healthy fats from nuts, salmon and avocado, to name a few of my favorites.
Take a vitamin/ mineral supplement. Most of us do not get their daily requirement from the foods we eat. That's why we need to take a vitamin.
Limit your sugar and alcohol intake. EMPTY CALORIES.....'nough said!
Be active. Try and get in some activity every day. We all know the health benefits of moving more. It will help you burn calories too!!!
Take it one step at a time and you can live a healthier and happier life!!!!!
