Sven & Lori 10,358'

Sven, waiting for the fun to begin!!
On the way up we pass Moraine Lake with Mt Bachelor in the background.
 Snow!!
Here's my hubby and an idea of the trail, which was subject to change quickly. It is steeper than it looks.
Little bit steeper. It was hard to find the trail in places.
More trail and steeper yet, with scree that was difficult to climb. About in the middle of this photo are people!! Yea, way up there....

Celebratory summit!! At 10,358'  one glass of champagne goes a long way!!
Cheers! Salut!  Skal! To being 50 on top of the 3rd tallest mountain in Oregon!! And being able to climb it!!
OK, how the heck do we get down from here?

I'm sore as heck today!!
Hiking is a great way to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. It doesn't have to be a mountain. Find a close place and go! You won't regret it!!

  4. Sheesh! How long did that take? and from what altitude did the hike start?
I can imagine your little leggys would be sore...in NZ we climbed to the top of Mackinnon Pass (3640ft) up and down in one day and it was a leetle bit hard to walk the next day!!
Good for you - can't wait for my next big hike.
