Winter Hiking

Our winter has been very mild so I thought with company coming we'd hit the trails for a winter hike.
I didn't realize the day  would be cloudy with a bit of snow falling in the mountains.

We investigated an old mining town.
Jumped a creek.
Had a lovely view, despite the clouds.

Made it to the summit, (It was actually a false summit and we didn't continue) We were right at 6000' elevation!

I really like summer hiking instead of winter hiking.  I hope you are getting out when you can despite the weather!

  2. Looks like a fantastic hike! So beautiful with the snow. Sure different than summer hiking though. Thanks for sharing your day.

  3. Quite a hike! A beautiful area though. I am back on my treadmill and up to 4 miles a day.
