There's a reason I haven't been posting- I haven't been doing well exercising or eating. I got very sick after returning from Bolivia the beginning of November and fell off the health wagon completely after Thanksgiving. Enough is enough. I feel lousy and will need to start training again, so this is where I start.
I am going to have a few tough days getting the crap out of my system, but I'm determined to do it. I'm starting today.
My goal:
Drink 64oz water
Have no sugar or foods with added sugar.
No processed foods.
No alcohol
Anybody want to join me? Or jump in with your own plan?
I'm in. I had been doing pretty good with the no sugar and processed foods, until the past week. Ugh
ReplyDeleteI did this plan with some ladies at work last year. I am ready to get back on track with my food plan too. Cleaning out the fridge today. Count me in!
ReplyDeleteI've been doing very well with my exercise (I got a Fitbit and it motivates me!) but terrible with my eating!! Back on track starting today!!
ReplyDeleteI have been doing pretty well with my eating during the holidays. 2 years ago, in February, I joined Weight Watchers and lost 21 lbs. I have been able to keep it off and I find having a Fitbit really keeps me motivated. Last night I ran in place so I could get my final 700 steps in. Lori, are you following this book or doing your own detox? I have never done a detox...I'm not sure if my family would make it out alive!
ReplyDeleteHi Rori, Your profile doesn't have an email associated with it, so I hope you check back here.
DeleteI'm using the book as a guideline, mostly to get all the crap out of my system, then I'll move to just eating whole, real food, keeping any added sugars out of my diet. I'll make my husband somewhat the same foods, but cook more "stuff" for him. I made it through day one but think tomorrow may be worse. Send me your email- I'd love to correspond.
Dear Lori,
ReplyDeleteTHANKS for this initiative ! You can count me in :))
I joined a weight Watchers local group last November, and lost 6.5 Kgs, up to now. That's a good start, but I still have a long way to go (I have to lose 30 Kgs, and I'm 64 years old. I'm not very active physically, and have never enjoyed exercise/fitness). However, I'm ready to help the process with a good detox, and I'm sure I'll learn a lot of tricks. Oh and, by the way, I just LOVE cooking ! I just got the book loaded on my Kindle, and I'm aiming to start on January 2nd (the New Year festivities are not very appropriate to put detox on the family menu :))
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU !
NADINE (in Belgium)
Yes, yes, I'm in!!! I so need to get back on track!
ReplyDeleteI love Dr Hyman's information. He is great. I have been following a lot of his stuff since going gluten free 3 years ago. I have to get back to drinking more water.
