This is what I did on Mother's Day morning. I was rounding the curve and could see the finish line. It was 10K (6.2miles) and I didn't walk once! yay! That was my goal. I don't think I'll have an official time- but that is a whole 'nother story. My goal really was to run the whole thing and I did.
My daughter ran it with me too. She stayed with me and encouraged me until mile 5 then she made her own pace to the finish line. I'm not really sure what the deal is with beer and running.......we got 2 free beers each and Mexican food, since it was the Cinco de Mayo run. We had our guys with us who we shared with, but it was 10AM! Seriously, I was dry and it was close to one of the best beers I ever had!! LOL
Our weekend started Saturday. Hubby and I had a lot of fun in the afternoon visiting
After the kids got off work we went to a Swedish restaurant called Broder Cafe. It was pretty authentic and a lot of fun.
I've been starved for spring and couldn't help but snap a few photos as we walked several blocks to
Pix Pattisserie for a bit of dessert.
This was such a delicate blossom.
Now you can see why I run! We spend a lot of time eating and enjoying food. If you are ever in Portland I can recommend any one of the places I mentioned.
Sounds like a wonderful weekend and you look great at the end of the race! Well done.
ReplyDeleteWell done the two of you- No matter how long it took you ran it.
ReplyDeleteYeah!!! Way to go.

ReplyDeleteI went through this blog and found it so fascinating! I wish I could run as much as you did! I am a walker and walk for miles every day, Some day I wish I could run.. I guess I should start slow and do it daily right?
