Cruise Detox!

The spa had detox treatments and I was getting teased by the fellow quilters that I should attend!
My detox started early this morning with a 45 minute run- wow, it was hard! I think I felt cognac, butter and salt water pouring from my glands. I was excited to get moving and back on track.

I enjoyed a bit of this...aren't the umbrellas cute?

Caribbean beer.....why not?

I Putu and Borko were full of trouble every night after dinner!!
We did a lot of walking. It was so hot that after a long walk we could be found......
At Johnny's outdoor bar! Beer really does taste better when it is so hot outside. It could have been 9 or 10 AM and I would have had a cold beer!  Johnny (from Connecticut) gave us the scoop on the local beaches.
Beautiful food prepared by the cruise chef

This was so wonderful after a morning of snorkeling. I ate this with the Carib beer....One of my best meals!

The food was amazing and although it feels like I ate a lot the servings were petite, but plenty.
It was fairly easy to keep the calories burning too.

We danced quite a bit
Regan, Bonnie and I walked every morning on the "track'. 7 times around was a mile. We usually walked about 45 minutes. One morning I even got them to jog a little.
Snorkeling and swimming burns quite a few calories.

The Carnival Dream is a huge ship that is about 3 football field lengths and has 14 decks. Bonnie & I very rarely took the elevator so you know lots of calories were being burned just getting lost walking around.

Perspective...

What is nice is that while I am getting back to my half marathon training I'll be doing it 5 pounds lighter!!

  4. Looks like you had a great time. Wow 5 pounds! good for you. Just started on a project... looking to lose 10 kilos (about 22lbs). Clearly a long term goal but I like the idea of 1/2 marathons. Something to work towards!
