Oregon Outdoor Adventures

Every couple of years we like to take a family rafting trip. This year hubby couldn't come because of a last minute scheduling conflict, We were bummed, but managed to find a friend who wanted to join in.

This is on the Deschutes River and less than an hour from our hometown.
The weather was a balmy 91 degrees so it was a great day to be on the river.
If you've never been river rafting I'd highly recommend it!

Going backwards to the weekend, we are trying to enjoy any free time we have. The weather has been amazing and autumn will be here before you know it.

We took off to the mountains for berry picking. We had heard the early hot weather and lack of rain may have made the berries elusive and that was the truth!

This cedar tree was huge! I love being in the forest!!
Picnic lunch on the tailgate: hummus, tzatziki, pita bread, greek olives, feta cheese, veggies and curry chicken. The fresh air makes it taste even better!!

I hope you are finding outdoor adventures in your life!!

  1. Oregon has the best outdoors! We loved every minute being there! Not sure I'm that brave to go down that river but the beach was perfect for walking for miles! Great pictures, you do have the best forest!!!

  2. The rafting looks like so much fun!! Some of the books by Jane Kirkpatrick have stories located near the Deschutes River and I have been wanting to visit that area. Gorgeous pictures - I love the forest too.
