DeTox Day 8

Today's focus and journal homework is DESIGN.

Make the defaults in your environment work for you instead of against you.

This struck a cord with me because over the holiday our kitchen was full of junk! The Monday after Christmas that junk took a ride out of my house! In order for me to be successful I cannot be seeing junk food every time I walk through my kitchen. On that same note it is important to have healthy food easily accessible, ready to grab on the go, or when you are hungry.

Change occurs by design, not by accident.

Areas to focus on: Kitchen, bedroom (remove distractions in order to get a good night's sleep), menu planning, exercise, and examining  the friends you keep.

How have you set yourself up for success?

  2. I had a nutrition consult with the trainer yesterday and he reset MyFitnessPal with new %numbers. We talked through it together so it is do-able. Now I need to get to the grocery store and do some cook ahead to make it work.

  3. You are so right! I decided my kitchen 3 years ago, and can't believe what has sneaked back in. Another problem for me has been fast food. It is everywhere in my town, and I developed a nasty habit of drive thru nearly eve r y time I was out. So easy, why cook? The only thing it had going for it was convenience. I am back to preparing ahead, and not even turning my head as I drive by the poison. I am back on track now, and resolve to move forward! Seeing your daily journey is very helpful! Thanks for sharing.
