What's in My Box?

Okay, I actually ordered the mixed salad greens, but everything else came in my box:

Cabbage
onions
red potatoes
mini spaghetti squash
carrots (lots and lots, not pictured)
fresh tumeric, which smells like dirt. LOL

I'm not sure how to use the tumeric and I haven't had a chance to look it up.

Can't wait for early spring veggies.

  1. Fresh turmeric is awesome! Use it like ginger. I like to put it in my smoothies with some greens and banana. I also chop up ginger and turmeric and let it steep in hot water. Then I strain it and add lemon juice. Then I feeze this in ice cube trays and add one to my water bottle. Turmeric is a great anti-inflammatory.

  2. I put fresh and ground turmeric in my smoothies. I tried the ground as hot tea and didn't care for it..too chalky. I drink ginger tea from sliced ginger and drink it all day long. Next time I can get my hands on some more turmeric root, ill try that too. Thanks Jillian for suggesting it!
