Wild Canyon Games

Some time ago my daughter and I decided we wanted to see the crazy and athletic Wild Canyon Games. Because of the remote location they do not allow spectators so we signed up to volunteer!
We were assigned to traffic duty the day we arrived, but there were too many so we got to hike and play a little.
Morning came early for volunteers and athletes, but there was a little time for socializing.

It had rained overnight and the last half of the bike portion of the triathlon was  epic!
Riding 4 miles up a hill was the easy part! We were there to direct them off the road and cheer them on!
We were thankful enough to see the end of the bike ride. Some riders had to carry their bikes close to 5 miles of mud! They are spraying themselves off! The mud was thick!
We were happy to be indoors after a cold morning! This was a giant memory game. Timed and way harder than it looks.

We woke up to sun on Sunday! That was perfect for the team relay.
This is one little portion of the obstacle course,
And ends at the top of this butte!

We had busy days and short nights........ We also made memories together but we do not care to do it again in this way, unless we are an athlete on a team!

  2. Glad the second day was sunny, I'm sure some participants are still finding mud in unexpected places!
